FITTING HORSES ONE AT A TIME, THERE ISN’T A RUSH,
IT’S YOUR HORSE, YOUR FRIEND

Western, English – Horse, Mule – Independent Fitter

Equine Affaire 2 Days TO GO.

Independent INFORMATIVE Experienced

Every horse/mule is special, it is your best friend, the one person who listens to you without complaint or judgement. When it comes to making sure your horse/mule is comfortable, I am an independent fitter, one horse, or a barn of six, I will give each one personalized treatment. I work with any brand of tack and am not focused on selling you a saddle, but finding a solid positive solution.

STATIC EVAL

Both your horse and the saddle is evaluated stationary. The goal is to feel, look and measure each component that will directly or indirectly impact your horse’s motion.

DYNAMIC EVAL

I will have you longe your horse and ride it. Horses tell stories in both situations. On the longe, they will move differently than being ridden. It’s imperative we find out what is potentially causing those differences.

YOUR INPUT

Throughout the process, I will ask you questions, how does this feel, what does he do when, how is she with this, what pads or shims have you tried, any changes to her feed or lifestyle, what is your horses’ story, etc.

Thank you so much for being a true saddle fitter. You didn’t try to sell me a saddle. You were very detailed, and at one point, I knew this was the real deal.

SADDLES SAY SO MUCH

When looking at a saddle there is much to read. Though it’s not the whole picture, it does tell me what has worked and not worked on your horse. It also helps to identify what you might need to consider if you are interested. But you know what, not everyone needs a new saddle when having a fitting. Something as simple as the right kind of shim, pad, saddle pad, gullet plate adjustment or a touch of flocking could make the difference.

THE PROCESS

I am interested in your horse, the saddle you are using, what your dreams and goals are, what your horse has done, what you have discovered about your horse’s movement, issues you may have fitting the saddle and more.

I will take measurements, ask more questions and watch you and your horse moving, both longing and being ridden.

When we are back in the barn, I like to revisit your goals and what I found. From there we talk about options, try other saddles, try all 20 different pads and shims you have and in the end, you will have a plan going forward.
