SELLING A SADDLE?

Trying to sell a saddle online can be good or bad. Depending on where you live, the demand for the brand/make of the saddle and price. The difficult part is to decide should you let the saddle go for a trial. Then what, do you ask for money, do you accept a check, Venmo, Paypal?? Then, you have to set up duration the saddle is gone and that is lost sales time for you. SO, stop the problem and provide the images to help buyers decide if the saddle will be right for them or not.

THE SIDE VIEW

The side view of the saddle tells so many things. The first task is to balance the saddle. So many images posted aren’t and it makes it a hard NO for me since I am unable to determine where the rider would sit.

I like to balance the saddle by looking at the stirrups to see if they are parallel to the ground. The other way to balance is to look at the stirrup bar, if it isn’t curved, see if it is parallel to the ground. It used to be you could line up the cantle and pommel but with dressage saddles designed to hold the rider in, it’s best not to do.

If you have a western saddle, look at the conchos in front, or right below the swell and the back of the seat, point where the cantle rises up.

This saddle is not balanced. To achieve balance, place the saddle on a saddle stand, you will need a saddle pad and some foam of some sort to help support the saddle till it is balanced. I always have shims on hand or an extra pad.
